Our Story

RetroFind, a project born from a love of timeless design and the quiet thrill of discovery.

Specialising in authentic vintage mid-century modern furniture from the 1950s to 1970s – pieces that combine clean lines, warm woods, and enduring craftsmanship. Our collection features carefully sourced Ercol, G Plan, Danish teak, McIntosh, Russell, Ladderax, and Scandinavian designs: elegant sideboards, dining chairs, armchairs, settees, bookcases, coffee tables and more.

The story began with Octopus Furniture, a much-loved independent shop on Bartholomew Street in Newbury Berkshire that quietly built a loyal following over two decades. When the physical store closed, the entire collection of carefully curated stock moved to a secure Berkshire warehouse – and with it came the opportunity to evolve.

Today, RetroFind is led by Javeed Anwar who has extensive experience in the hospitality and leisure sectors and is a marketing and commercial specialist. He has a lifelong passion for restoration which shines through in the meticulous approach he applies to reviving each piece of furniture. Javeed’s hands-on background in restoration – from classic cars, motorbikes and bicycles to reviving iconic Anglepoise lamps – brings the same meticulous care and attention to detail to every piece we bring back to life.

We believe mid-century furniture deserves a second chapter. Each item is selected for its quality, provenance and potential to sit beautifully in modern homes. We restore/revive thoughtfully, photograph honestly, describe accurately, and ship carefully across the UK – so you can buy with confidence.
